By Will Oliver, March 19th 2013 & were up next at the Viceland party, and lets just say things got a bit rowdy. Wavves put on their usually firey set which resulted in a pretty hectic moshpit. Elbows were thrown, free beers were freely thrown everywhere. Security wasn’t too pleased and tried to get involved, which resulted in Nathan telling them to bend down and chill out. Can’t blame either side. The crowd was a bit much, but it is the type of show where you expect these sort of things to go down. Japandroids were next and had to battle some tough issues with the sound.

The band’s rough powerhouse sound was let down by flat sound that wasn’t there fault. They fought through it the best that they could and put on the best show they could. Regardless of any sound troubles, the crowd was drunk and almost as rowdy as before.

That album is called Afraid Of Heights, and it will come out on March 26 via. Pcmscan 2412 rusifikator. It will likely be much larger in sound than his previous releases (the single definitely sounds well produced) as producer John Hill produced it.

It was recorded at Sonora Recorders in L.A. And Williams does a bit of growing as he tells in his interview with them. Jenny Lewis contributed some vocals, and Nathan said he listened to Weezer’s Blue Album almost everyday on repeat. It’s a good read, and will give you a lot of insight into the next album.
